About Us
SGB Czech Trafo history
SGB Czech Trafo was established in 2016, when it followed on the production of dry-type distribution transformers using the Gravity Line technology, which was originally located in the Regensburg, Germany factory. SGB Czech Trafo thus continues to develop the long-standing experience in transformer manufacturing of its sister companies, SGB Regensburg and SMIT, which have been manufacturing transformers since 1947, respectively 1913 in the case of SMIT. Our factory, with a production area of 7,600 m2, is located in Olomouc, Czech Republic, and employs approximately 80 employees.
SGB-SMIT Group
SGB Czech Trafo is part of the international SGB-SMIT Group, which fully specializes solely in the manufacturing of transformers. Electricity distributors and engineers worldwide trust the products of the SGB-SMIT Group, which has production facilities in Germany, France, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Romania, China, India, Malaysia, the USA, and South Africa.
Quality Assurance
Our company focuses on meeting customer requirements while respecting all legal regulations, norms, and standards for quality, environmental protection, long-term sustainability, and safety. In addition to internal safety regulations, our transformers comply with IEC 60076-11 and our manufacturing is ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certified.
Gravity Line products also comply with the given routine, type, and special testing as per IEC 60076-11 such as flammability tests, climate and environmental tests, heat tests, short circuit test, full wave atmospheric pulse test, and more.
