In November, the Techcom Congress took place in Olomouc, welcoming engineers from across the SGB-SMIT Group. This congress is part of a series of regular meetings held four times a year, providing a valuable platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience between entities within the group. The goal of Techcom is to allow participants to share the latest innovations and trends in Research and Development (R&D), which drives faster growth and competitiveness for the entire group.

During the congress, we had the opportunity to present key projects that we are currently working on at SGB Czech Trafo. Discussions focused on the latest technological advances that could significantly impact our industry. The presented projects included not only the development of innovative products but also new processes and methodologies that contribute to more efficient production and higher quality of our services. Each entity had the chance to share its approach and results, inspiring debates and new ideas.

A significant part of the program was dedicated to the development of a shared design platform for the electrical and mechanical design of transformers. “This software is crucial for our future – it allows us to work with unified tools and greatly accelerates the sharing of expertise among teams. This way, we can collaborate more effectively, achieve consistent quality across all our operations, and move our projects forward with even greater dynamism,” says Michal Svoboda, engineering leader at SGB-SMIT Group.

One of the main highlights of the congress was an open panel discussion where participants could ask each other questions about specific projects and challenges they face. This interactive format fostered a dynamic exchange of opinions and experiences, leading to new collaborations between departments and regions. Participants were able to gain practical tips for overcoming common obstacles encountered by engineers within the group.

Another important part of the congress was the presentation of future plans and strategies. Leaders from various departments shared their vision and goals, helping unite all group members toward a shared objective – continuous improvement and innovation. These discussions produced concrete steps that we will implement in the coming months, not only at the team level but also across larger projects within the entire group.

The Techcom Congress perfectly reflects our mission – "Transforming Together the Future of Energy." This mission underpins all our activities, and sharing ideas, expertise, and projects during the congress is a crucial step toward fulfilling this vision. We believe that through collaborative efforts across the group, we can push the boundaries of energy technology and lay a strong foundation for a sustainable energy future.
