Ecology is more than just a word for us. It’s at the heart of what we do – that’s why we produce dry-type transformers that are safe for the environment.
But our sense of responsibility goes beyond ecological solutions. For us, it means caring for people, communities, and the future we help shape every day.
Responsibility – our commitment to people, the planet, and the future
Responsibility – our commitment to people, the planet, and the future We believe that responsible business is more than just a word – it's a commitment we reflect in every step of our work. Responsibility is one of the pillars on which we build not only our products, but also relationships with customers, business partners, employees, and the communities in which we operate. Every decision we make is an opportunity to contribute to a better future – economically, environmentally, and socially.
Products with a lower impact on the planet
Our dry-type transformers are designed with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, and environmental responsibility. They do not use oil-based dielectric fluids, eliminating the risk of hazardous leaks. The new generation of Gravity Compact transformers, with their oval coils, requires less material, is lighter, more compact, and has a smaller carbon footprint. For our customers, this means not only saving space and energy but also making a choice that aligns with the principles of sustainability.
Green energy, recycling, and responsible manufacturing
We apply responsibility in our manufacturing processes as well. We use recyclable and environmentally friendly materials and optimize production to minimize waste and raw material consumption. We recycle 73% of production waste, ranking us third among all group members. This year, we’ve also focused on sorting more types of waste, not only in production but also in office spaces. We installed a composter and prioritize employee awareness – a key factor for efficient bio-waste management. We are also exploring options for recycling the resin generated during the production of high-voltage coils and looking for ways to minimize and meaningfully repurpose additional waste, for example in construction.
We strive to be energy-efficient in our operations too. Since January 2024, our production facilities have been running on 100% green energy. We are also promoting e-mobility – adding electric vehicles to our company fleet and building charging infrastructure that is also available to our employees. We believe that even small, systematic steps can have a significant impact.
Responsibility to people and communities
But responsibility doesn’t end with technology. It’s also reflected in our approach to people – employees, partners, and the communities around us. Equal opportunities are a given for us; we support professional growth, a safe working environment, and respect for individuality. We are proud that 50% of our managerial positions are held by women. We believe diversity brings strength – not only human but also professional. We are also actively involved in community initiatives. In 2023, we took part in tree planting as part of our teambuilding in an area affected by intensive agriculture. In September 2024, we provided both manual and financial aid after the devastating floods in the Czech Republic, specifically in the village of Česká Ves.
We talk openly and clearly about the benefits of our products and the values that guide us. The topic of responsibility is reflected in our expert articles, blog posts, videos, and personal approach to customer interactions. In 2024, we were awarded 1st place for corporate social responsibility within the global SGB-SMIT Group – for us, proof that what we do truly matters.
