We\u2019re excited to share a new milestone in our product development: our Gravity Line transformers are now available in a version with rated voltage up to 36\u202fkV. The prototype has successfully passed rigorous type and routine tests, including environmental testing, and meets all requirements for mechanical strength, thermal stability, and dielectric integrity.<\/p>\n

This voltage extension is the result of focused development to offer our long-term customers \u2013 typically operating 10\u202fkV and 20\u202fkV networks \u2013 a proven and reliable solution also for 30\u202fkV applications. With this step, we\u2019re expanding the Gravity Line portfolio to support a broader range of distribution projects without compromising on quality or availability.<\/p>\n

Why 36\u202fkV? Responding to customer needs<\/strong>
This portfolio expansion was a direct response to specific customer requirements, particularly from mountainous regions of Austria, where the power grid is sparse and higher voltage is essential for efficient energy transmission. However, it also has strong potential for use in the Czech Republic, Germany, and Spain \u2013 in industry, renewable energy, and urban infrastructure. Higher voltage allows energy to be transmitted over longer distances with fewer losses, which is key for both new projects and modernization efforts.<\/p>\n

Development and testing: safety and resilience first<\/strong>
To develop a transformer for 36\u202fkV, it was necessary to redefine certain design parameters \u2013 especially insulation distances and HV coil configurations. Our design adopts two barrier cylinders which divides the stray duct and ensures safe operation at high voltage levels. The new models have successfully passed all routine and type tests including temperature rise test noise level test and lightning impulse (170\u202fkV) test.<\/p>\n

The transformer complies with the IEC 60076-11 standard and fully meets the requirements for environmental class E3, climatic class C3, and fire behavior class F1. The prototype for the 36\u202fkV series demonstrated excellent resilience in all aspects, confirming its reliability and durability even under the most demanding conditions.<\/p>\n
